Collaborate Without Sharing Raw Data
Aika Lab's data partnership models are built around privacy-preserving collaboration. Your data stays in your infrastructure while jointly improving global model performance.
Three Collaboration Models
Federated Learning
Your data never leaves your servers. Aika Lab coordinates gradient aggregation across participating sites. Joint model improvements benefit all participants.
- ›On-premise computation
- ›Differential privacy guarantees
- ›Gradient compression protocol
- ›Asynchronous aggregation support
Data Licensing
Anonymized, aggregate-level access to EEG recordings for model development. Commercially licensed with clear attribution and revenue sharing.
- ›De-identification pipeline included
- ›Usage-based licensing model
- ›IRB compliant protocols
- ›Benchmark dataset access
Joint Annotation
Collaborative expert labeling of public or shared EEG datasets. Aika Lab contributes automated pre-labeling; your domain experts refine.
- ›AASM sleep staging templates
- ›Artifact labeling workflows
- ›Active learning suggestions
- ›Version-controlled labels
What We're Looking For
Polysomnography (PSG) Data
Expert-scored full-night sleep recordings from healthy adults and clinical populations (insomnia, OSA, narcolepsy).
Longitudinal Consumer EEG
Multi-night home EEG recordings from consumer-grade devices (Muse, OpenBCI, dry-electrode systems).
Clinical BCI Recordings
Intraoperative, ICU monitoring, or chronic implant data for deep brain signal modeling.
Cognitive Task EEG
EEG recorded during standardized cognitive tasks (P300, SSVEP, mental arithmetic, n-back) with behavioral labels.
Our Data Principles
GDPR Compliant
All data handling processes are designed to meet GDPR Article 9 requirements for health data.
Data Stays Local
Federated learning ensures raw EEG data never leaves your institutional servers.
DPA Templates
Ready-to-sign Data Processing Agreements prepared with your institution's legal team in mind.
IRB Support
We assist with IRB application language for multi-site studies involving Aika Lab infrastructure.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my institution need to share raw EEG recordings?
No. Under the Federated Learning model, raw data never leaves your servers. Only gradient updates are transmitted. Under the Data Licensing model, data is fully de-identified before transfer.
What IRB and data governance documentation do you provide?
We provide template Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), IRB application language for multi-site studies, and can work alongside your institution's legal and ethics teams.
What EEG data formats do you accept?
EDF/EDF+, BrainVision, EEGLAB .set, CSV with metadata, and BIDS format. We can work with proprietary formats with appropriate documentation.
