Request data deletion without an account

If you believe Aika Lab holds personal data about you but you do not have an active account (for example, if you previously deleted your account, or if your data was provided by another party), you may submit a deletion request via email.

What happens after I delete my account?

Immediately

You are logged out of all devices.

Within 7 days

Your account credentials are disabled. You can no longer log in.

Within 30 days

All identifiable personal data is deleted from our active systems, including: account info, identifiable EEG data, session records, in-App behavior data.

Within 90 days

Your data is removed from backups during the next regular backup rotation.

Retained as required by law

Transaction records (7 years per Swedish Bokföringslag), proof-of-consent records (3 years after consent withdrawal).

What will be deleted, and what will be retained?

Will be deleted (within 30 days)

Account: username, email, phone number, profile photo, password (already hashed)
Authentication: Google Sign-In linkage
EEG and biosignal data linked to your User ID (data already anonymized cannot be deleted because the link to you no longer exists)
Sleep stage and intervention event records linked to your User ID
Adaptation Night EDF recordings linked to your User ID
In-App behavior data (which products you used, session durations, etc.)
Order history for physical accessories (purchase confirmations, shipping records). Note: transaction records required by Swedish accounting law are retained per Section 11.2
Customer support correspondence (if you request it specifically)

Will be retained (legally required)

Transaction records: 7 years (Swedish Bokföringslag)
Tax-relevant records: as required by Skatteverket
Proof-of-consent records: 3 years after consent withdrawal (to demonstrate compliance if challenged)
Already-anonymized data: cannot be deleted because it no longer identifies you

What about pending physical accessory orders?

If you have pending orders for physical accessories (BCI hardware or related items) from our website store at aikalab.se/market, account deletion does not automatically cancel these orders. Please contact hello@aikalab.se to coordinate pending shipments or refunds before requesting account deletion.

Note: The current version of our Apps is completely free; there are no subscriptions to manage. This section applies only to physical accessory orders.
